Kebab without plastic

This kebab store does completely without plastic

Karlstadt. In Karlstadt, kebabs will only be available without plastic in future - at least in the store of 31-year-old Tuncay Dalga, who was fed up with all the plastic waste. "A kebab store produces an incredible amount of plastic waste. That was too much for me," he says. And so he is now setting a good example and is an inspiration for other restaurants to also play their part in the fight against plastic waste. Plastic waste in the environment contribute.

"Plastic is harmful to us all. Plastic waste spoils beautiful beaches and clogs the oceans. The plastic also ends up in the fish and then in all of us. I didn't want to contribute to this anymore." - and so Tuncay did some research and came across a manufacturer who wanted to open his kebab store in Karlstadt in the future. plastic-free makes. Disposable wooden cutlery for to-go customers and the kebab is available in coated, recycled paper. Even if the material procurement is significantly more expensive than before for plastic cutlery and packaging, it is worth it for the 31-year-old. Tuncay has only increased prices minimally in order to continue to cover costs.

We can only hope that he inspires many other restaurant operators with his decision to reduce plastic waste.

  1. - And what about the shrink-wrapped washing powder pad ???
    - this plastic goes yes immediately from the washing machine into our water, because it dissolves already during the washing process ! THIS amount of plastic is enormous and also pointless !
    - Probably not yet thought properly or !?
Why is the song " Wealth of the world" by Holger Biege not actually played or broadcast on the radio or TV ???
    - That would be an incentive for people to avoid plastic.
    - In the former GDR, no or very little plastic SO was used either, although it was produced in Schkopau.

    1. Hi Gabriele, thanks for your comment. Did you end up in the wrong blog post 🙂 .
I think you're referring to the EU ban on single-use plastic. Yes, you are absolutely right. These pads are made of plastic and in fact are not yet banned. Unfortunately, politics is very slow to make single-use plastics disappear....
      Many greetings

  2. Hello Christoph,
I also find the plastic waste really bad and I wanted to take care now even more to avoid plastic and to buy toothbrushes, ear sticks and pads etc. without plastic, but the prices are really no fun. My ear sticks with plastic cost 0.35 euros and the vegan or without plastic more than five euros. I bought three toothbrushes for just under ten euros. The ones with plastic are much cheaper.
I've been using regular soap since I was a kid. Straws and plastic utensils were too expensive for us. We couldn't afford to use them once and then throw them away. Just like the bread bags. We also used them a thousand times (see Özcan Cosar jokes so was it with us). Coffee to go or so I do not drink. But how and where can you buy things without plastic that are cheaper? Then I am gladly with it. But the other way around, I can't afford not to produce garbage in the long run.

    1. Hi Hülya, you can buy things plastic-free for example also used - for example at rebuy.
Even though plastic-free may seem more expensive at first, your overall lifestyle and eco-conscious attitude will save you a lot of money elsewhere - because you'll consume far fewer superfluous items 🙂
      Best regards,
      Christoph
